Making our terms easy to read is part of our commitment to transparency and a positive experience for your family. By joining Stargaze Dance Academy, you are joining a community built on mutual respect and safety.

  1. OUR SHARED CODE OF CONDUCT

    Goal: A democratic and respectful environment for everyone.

  • Respect for All: We treat everyone as we would like to be treated. Mutual respect between staff, pupils, and parents is mandatory.

  • The Student Voice: We actively involve our pupils in decisions that affect them, encouraging democracy and confidence.

  • Communication: Always talk to a teacher if you or your child feels uncomfortable so we can help immediately.

  • Zero Tolerance: Bullying or poor behavior will not be tolerated and may result in being asked to leave Stargaze Dance Academy.

  1. SAFETY & ARRIVING AT "THE HIDEAWAY"

    Goal: Keeping our dancers secure from the moment they arrive.

  • Secure Access: To enter, press the buzzer and stand directly in front of the camera. A staff member will identify you before opening the door.

  • Lockdown Policy: The front door remains locked during classes. Please do not let anyone else into the building when entering or leaving.

  • Supervision: * Under 2s: Parents must stay on the premises at all times.

    • Primary Aged: Children must be escorted to and from the venue. Please do not leave them alone in the car park or outside the building.

    • Collection: Parents must collect children from inside the venue unless prior arrangements are made for older pupils to walk home.

  1. PRIVACY & DATA COLLECTION

    Goal: Build trust and compliance by ensuring family data is handled securely and transparently.

  • Information Collected: We collect names, contact details, child's DOB, and essential health/medical information.

  • Purpose of Use: Data is used to process enrollments, ensure student safety, and communicate Stargaze Dance Academy's updates with parents.

  • Secure Storage: All personal information is stored in password-protected systems and is never shared with third parties unless legally required or without your explicit consent.

  • Data Access: Parents may request updates or corrections to their data by emailing [email protected]

  • Website & Cookies: When you visit our website, we may collect limited non-personal data via cookies and analytics tools to improve site functionality and user experience. You can disable cookies through your browser settings at any time.

  1. CLASSES & ATTENDANCE

    Goal: Smooth operations for a focused learning environment.

  • Settling In: If your child is struggling, you may stay to support them. We ask that phone's are switched off and you refrain from filming to respect our Child Protection Policy.

  • Cancellations: If we must cancel a class (e.g., adverse weather), we will try to reschedule. Refunds are not provided for missed classes or circumstances beyond our control.

  • Trials: New pupils enjoy a 4-week trial period, priced at the standard weekly session rate.

  • Essentials: Please ensure your dancer has water, appropriate clothing, and any necessary medication.

  1. UNIFORM & APPEARANCE

    Goal: Confidence, safety, and correct technique.

  • Standard: Uniform is required for all classes. It helps our teachers correct body alignment and ensures student safety.

  • Hair: Must be neat and off the face. Ballet requires a classical bun with a bun net; other classes require a neat ponytail.

  • Buying Uniform: Visit our assistant, Evie, at the Stargaze Shop or shop online for casual and Elite wear here: All Boogie Store.

  • Valuables: We are not responsible for lost or damaged personal items. Please leave valuables at home.

  1. PAYMENTS & ENROLMENT

    Goal: Simple, automated billing so we can focus on dancing.

  • Registration: A one-off £25 fee is payable at enrolment (this includes a free t-shirt).

  • Monthly Payments: We spread the cost of 42 weeks of classes over 12 equal monthly payments.

  • Initial Payment: Your first payment covers 2 months so you are always one month upfront.

  • Leaving Us (Notice Period): We require at least one month’s written notice to stop classes. Notice must be sent via email to [email protected].

    • Note: Notice starts on the 1st of the following month. For example, notice given on any date in March will mean your final classes and payment conclude at the end of April.

  • Final Accounts: If there are any outstanding fees, these will be emailed to you and collected via GoCardless. If your account is in credit, this will be refunded back to you.

  • Admin Fee: A small £1.50 monthly fee is added to your payment.

  • Additional Costs: Uniform, exams, or show costumes will be invoiced and collected via GoCardless.

  1. PHOTOGRAPHY, DATA & PRIVACY

  • Marketing: We may use photos for promotional use; you may opt-out by emailing us.

  • Safeguarding and Child Protection: We promote the welfare of every child regardless of race, gender, or disability, adhering to the UNCRC.
